Sightseeing With Atlanta Educational Tours

Traveling can be fun for individuals, couples, groups and students. When it comes to student travel, there are a number of companies offering Atlanta Educational Tours. In most cases, these tours include a number of historical sights in the Atlanta area. Whereas, there are also a number of political sights included in each tour. When going on a tour of the city, there are often half and full day options. As there is so much to see and do, most of those visiting the city prefer to take the full day tour.

Whether interested in science, history, business or having fun, there is no problem doing so when it comes to Atlanta. For, the city hosts some of the most historical sights in the United States. These include several libraries, museums and parks in the city, many of which are related to history and politics.

Two of the main political attractions in the city are that of the African American Panoramic Experience Museum and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center For Nonviolence Social Change. The first hosts a number of artifacts and relics related to the African American experience. Whereas, the latter focuses on the life, work and assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Historical sights abound in the city. One of the first libraries of its kind, the Auburn Research Library offers archival and reference collections related to the study of African cultures. Most often those visiting the library plan a half or whole day to do so. For, there are a number of different historical documents and exhibitions which include a great deal of information which is important to read in order to understand the strengths, struggles and successes of African American people.

The city also plays host to a number of historic neighborhoods. One of the favorites, among tourists and residents is that of Buckhead. For, the area hosts a number of eateries, shops, historic homes and elegant hotels. As such, whether simply taking a stroll through the neighborhood to look at the homes and hotels, or stopping off for shopping, lunch or dinner, the area is often considered one of the best places to do so.

Centennial Olympic Park and the CNN Headquarters are most often stops on an organized tour. The park, now a sports complex used by a number of local and national groups was originally built for the 1996 Olympic Games. Whereas, the CNN center provides information and insight on how a news organization decides on which stories are worthy of public knowledge.

Another museum which is worth a stop is that of the Fernback museum. For, this is a museum which focuses on the development of life on earth. As such, there are a number of interactive exhibits which help define, describe and explain life from the beginning to present day. In addition, there is also an IMAX theater which often features documentaries and first run films. While the IMAX is part of the complex, tickets are often separate and apart from General Admission.

The Jimmy Carter presidential complex also offers visitors insight into the Carter administration through the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and museum. President Carter was one of the most loved presidents in the United States. As such, The Carter Center host a number of photographs and other memorabilia from the time of the Carter presidency including a replica of the Oval Office.
