The old town of Stockholm ( Gamla Stan )

Old Town ( Gamla Stan ) is the historical center of Stockholm. It covers the island of Stadsholmen and islets Riddarholmen , Helgeandsholmen and Strömsborg . It dates from the 13th century, but most buildings that now contain are the 18th and 19th centuries. It is a beautiful maze of streets and cobbled streets , buildings in pastel tones and ocher , which result in similar places whose architecture is reminiscent of Northern Germany.

Tourist attractions Grand Place ( Stortorget ) is the center of the old town.
