For your convenience, we offer a list of activities during your stay in Gothenburg on the west coast.
1. Design and Shopping
Haga is the oldest part of town, full of charm with its old buildings and narrow streets. Easily accessible by foot, bus or tram, it is full of antique shops and antique shops, thrift stores, and Swedish design shops, but also good cafes, bars and restaurants. There are also other very conducive to shopping places: Nordstan, Arkaden, Kompassen Avenyn and Innerstaden - close to each other.

Gothenburg hosts many festivals - Göteborg International Film Festival, Way Out West Music Festival and Cultural Festival. 3. Museums
Gothenburg has several renowned museums such as the Museum Röhsska devoted to crafts and design, the Museum of World Culture (Varldskulturmuseet) and the Museum of Fine Arts (Göteborg Konstmuseum), all located in the city center, close each other. The Nordic Watercolour Museum (Akvarellmuseet), relatively new and beautifully situated on a peninsula north of Gothenburg, is preparing an exhibition on the works of the late Louise Bourgeois. To get there, drive about 50 miles to the north and then in Stenungsund, take the bridges of Tjörn (Tjörnbroarna) to the west, and continue towards the small town of Skärhamn, on the west coast of the island.
4. Restaurants
Dining destination, Gothenburg has five Michelin-starred restaurants and a number of restaurants, brasseries and bistros full of charm, for all tastes and all budgets around the city - we note Caleo, Hos Pelle, Kock & Vin and classic Brasserie Lipp on the Avenue. In the summer, we often dines out as bars and restaurants moved into the streets.
5. The Archipelago
An insular world just waiting for you just outside Gothenburg. The southern tip of the fabulous archipelago of the west coast is easily accessible in a half hour tram (line 11) from the city center and then by boat. If you want to go further, the island of Marstrand and the small island of Åstol further north, are a good starting point. Other islands are well worth a visit include Hållö, Kosteröarna - the largest marine reserve in Sweden and Väderöarna islands, shaped by wind and weather as the name suggests (Weather Islands).
6. Seafood
The west coast of Sweden is famous for its lobsters, oysters and mussels. The "lobster safaris" are organized with local fishermen, including Everts Sjöbod, Grebbestad, just 90 minutes north of Gothenburg. This package includes some lobster and dinner with lobster aboard the houseboat. Panget to Resö, small island located just 90 minutes north of Gothenburg, invites you to fish lobster and prepare a delicious meal from what you've caught. In Karingo on the island of Käringön (100 km from Gothenburg), the specialty is oysters. They offer a tasting oysters + champagne, all in a giant hot tub facing the sea! There are many other fishing opportunities / tasting along the coast and on the islands. Tourist offices in Kungsportsplatsen 2 or Nordstadstorget provide you with more detailed information.
