Iceland in practice

Iceland in practice
Europe is connected to Iceland by the airline Icelandair.
No visa is required for citizens of the EU.
The currency in circulation is the Icelandic krona, or krona.

The budget required is rather important: have at least € 70 for a double room, and around 20 € for a meal. Also consider the entries in the museums, which are expensive.

There are no health issues to report in Iceland, where people hold the record for longevity in Europe: the health system is very effective and many doctors. Just beware of a small gnat called "black fly" that proliferates in the summer and is very aggressive: it is better to protect yourself effectively for his bites are more than unpleasant.

For traveling within the country, buses and ferries are the only truly effective means of transport available, unless you are renting a taxi. In winter, there are only the plane because the roads are paralyzed by snow or ice.
