Where can I go camping?

camping

the Iro Kounadi We'll start the bad news: As the summer season with unprecedented occupancy hotels approaching its peak, increasingly is spreading the news that reaches our ears for "sweeps" fines and persecution. Erstwhile bastions of free camping, as Samothrace and the hook, dropped dramatically this year, making us wonder: Do the dare or not? The answer to this difficult question depends on a variety of factors, including how lucky you generally like people, how willing to support your own in front of a court are ( see here what provides the latest amendment of the law prohibiting the free camping), and how revolutionary spirit have. If eventually you decide, here's a few of the places-to remain untouched for the time being on the long arm of the law.
South Pelion
South Pelion (photo © Web Pelion ): Apart from beaches-superstar (Mylopotamo, dancers, St. John, and so on) Pelion has several quiet, almost secret beaches hidden from prying eyes, and perfect for free campers. Two of the most popular in the circles are the Ascension and Parisena, the "legs" of Zagora, which starts from the rather steep alley that ends here I'll need some help from the locals to find. Are they both the pebble (which means that it will be hard to find a little smooth surface to set up the tent and your layers) and green, with crystal clear water and plenty of shade. The tavern just before the beach of Ascension guarantee that you will never run out of cold water, coffee, breakfast (honey-butter and bread) and homemade food. Another option is to Melani, next to Watering with sand and small pebbles-plus tavern adjacent to the essentials.
Elea Messinia
Elea Messinia: The sandy beach which starts from the Tower and ends in Kyparissia has always been a favorite among the free camping. When the pine forest across the lake Caiaphas nightmarish fires burned in 2007, the "village with the scenes" moved a little further south, also in the spectacular pine oil. Two and a half miles of trails that meander between tufted trees, clear blue waters of the Ionian Sea (but August is not always quiet) just a few steps, abundant shade unlike most places for camping in Greece, and scattered taverns and cafeterias in striking distance for supplies. What else do you want?
Reed
Reed: It's so secret, that may not have even heard of him. So much the better, though: The Thumbelina south of Lefkada island with beautiful Ionian sea, pebbled beaches and pine trees that reach the sea is ideal for free camping, just because most people are unaware of its existence. The few rooms on the island are filled quickly by "connoisseurs", whereby local authorities are tolerant to the issue of free camping. Kalamos will come by boat from Mitika (near Agrinio) which will leave the car because the island is not coaches -besides the rural community, which if you are lucky and will get you to the beaches. Hiliadou, Evia
Hiliadou, Evia: One of the closest options in Athens (now deprived of the Hook) Chiliadou combines river and sea, to have to choose: Dasaki with lovely shade next to a small creek, or golden beach hidden behind the rocks (among which the path passes) on the edge of the large, popular beach. If you ask us, however, we will choose the first, since the beach in August attracts so many people that ends up resembling an organized camping. Put that in the past there have been reports of arrests.
Lower Koufonissi
Lower Koufonissi If places like Hiliadou or Samothrace were the bastions of free camping, Kato Koufonisi was always his kingdom. Without electricity, without residents, but water to drink in the glass and the tavern Venetsanos that will supply you with the necessary water, chops and exquisite millefeuille surprise. Linked with Koufonisi regular services Caicos Islands, the last of which takes place at around 23.00 in the evening -So leave and the owners of the restaurant, and stay you, your cohorts, wave and stars.
Pahia Ammos
Pahia Ammos, Nisyros: The Dodecanese are generally much more tolerant towards free camping in comparison with the Cyclades, and Pahia Ammos Nisyros is one of the examples that clearly demonstrated. The distance of the beach from any residential area guarantees that you will not be disturbed. Facts arrests have never been reported, the beach is beautiful, and the tavern "Oasis" (the ten minute walk) serves local specialties and homemade cuisine at very reasonable prices. On the negative side, note the lack of shade and relatively inaccessible: the beach is about ten kilometers from Mandraki, the road is paved up to a point, then dirt road and finally got by parking where you leave your car-path, which will need about ten minutes each time you want to cross.
Eristos
Eristos, Tilos: Another excellent example of the rule that wants to support the Dodecanese (as they can, and at least so far) free camping, Eristos Tilos has showers, toilets and garbage bins, courtesy of the municipality at free campers. The beach itself has golden sand, blue waters, and traditional tavernas and a mini market which guarantee that you will not miss anything.
Agathonisi Marathi
Agathonisi Marathi: The first is between Samos and Patmos, the second near Leipzig. Both have beautiful, virgin beaches with crystal clear waters, taverns necessary ammunition to ... (see food and water) and amazing, hospitable people. In Marathi there are no roads, cars and other technological "progress" -and this is one more reason to love it. On that beach that only you know: To tell the truth, the "hot spots" of free camping have two major drawbacks. First, arriving sometime in the ears of the Police (last and tragic example, the recent raid in Samothrace) and secondly the lack coveted privacy / isolation / sense "castaway", which is one of the main reasons why we go camping. Fanatics 'tent' we're asking every year at this time where to go to set up and we found consistently "not telling you, because you write it and crushed the world." If you want absolute silence, and a secret beach all yours, you have to search to find it.
